There's no place like home.... Yeah right!

So, here i am on a thrilling Saturday night enjoying a night red bush cup of tea, whilst I stick needles in my eyes staring at my computer screen with the word 'dissertation' catapulted across it. This has been a long time coming, perhaps a little over due actually, had i not have changed courses in my first year, but hey experimenting is everything, and if not, then it was a sure subconscious detour from the real world. Alas i have been working hard, but that was until I received a call from a friend over seas, over many seas it seems all the way in New Zealand and during the past few weeks i have had to endure countless emails detailing the 'lush greenery' and wonderfully jaw dropping sights. I have never experienced the green eyed monster before but in this instance, the eyes are emerald green.

Unlike the built up city of Leeds where I live now, New Zealand epitomises the countryside. Seeing as I grew up in the west country playing in fields and being at one with nature i can only wander what it would be like to live amongst it once again, and from these pictures of New Zealand I don't think it would be too difficult considering as though it looks like our English Countryside, only better. It appears so tranquil, like a self reflection haven - I can imagine not too many people would enjoy much of that. But for a traveller it has to be an absolute must.

In my mind I could see myself ending my travels here. Reminiscing over the life changing experiences and countries I've seen whilst sitting on the hill of a valley that deeply dips down, just leaving the peaks showing, covered in heavy vegetation, but with water propping them up, so it appears like the peaks of mountains are covered in trees but floating on a lighter shade of deep blue sea... BLISS. But don't get me wrong not everything is just 'green' over there, I am assured that there is as much life in the people as there is in the trees.
Apparently it's quite a close nit community over there, but they really know how to kick off a party with a sha-bang. I'm talking, 10- 80 year Olds all putting the laughs in, with the ever expected fight between men over who man's the BBQ, which once resolved is promptly followed by the consumption of many bottles of wine. (I have all the inside info, but seeing as its not first hand it would be rude to publish any more content on an ' NZ sha-banger').

So.. I've had my 10 minute interval of procrastinating, it is now back to the drawing board for me, with many a thousand words to go. Bring on the world.. which seems to be the only thing keeping me going! Pffff.

The Techno-Phobic

Day 15 of the STA video struggle. Now, I'm normally a genius when it comes to technology (putting aside the incident when a computer accidentally got thrown out of the window for sabotaging 2 months worth of work) but i am, remote's, televisions, cameras you name it and i will fix it, that is until i came across Windows Movie Maker we most certainly do not, and i repeat NOT get along. technophobia

I've only watched 4 of the other applicants videos so far, this i assure you is not a snubbing tactic just merely a barrier so that i can make sure that i don't subconsciously steal anyone else's ideas, seeing as being un-original is simply not what this competition is all about. Last years USA Winners, Lindsay and Chris fit the bill and every item in-between, and Paddy Doyle and Emma Sparks from this years UK applicants are no exception. Damn there good.

So far my video attempts have stretched to annoying runners, getting escorted out of a 24 Hr co-op and having my arse kicked by a territorial spider, whilst showering. I'm hoping after all this hard work that it steps up to the mark and delivers what I always intended on it delivering - ME and my travelling trials and tribulations, which are obviously TBC. Fingers crossed.

The video will be going up soon so keep your eyes peeled, No wool allowed.

Darling.
